Concept
A landscape design competition for a new urban park. The design is based on the effects of wind on the landscape through dune systems, eddies, scattered wind strewn objects and sheltered contrasts. One of ecological systems selected to produce fresh water for irrigation is the sea water greenhouse process that is incorporated in the built elements. Static pocket parks are created in the lea of giant shells. The main park is based on sunken salt pan gardens of colourful flower beds and orchards which contrast with existing landscape.
